Akram Shibly was born to Syrian immigrants in Buffalo, NY. As a child, he spent his summers in Damascus, cultivating a passion for filmmaking and storytelling. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media Production and Philosophy from the University at Buffalo and an MFA in Screenwriting from DePaul University.
He currently serves As a Producer for Buffalo Toronto Public Media, a PBS and NPR affiliate, while continuing to write and develop stories for the big screen, and poetry for the heart.
