The Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program

“Haudenosaunee filmmaking is emerging in a way that is becoming more into the public awareness of who we are as people, how we speak, what we look like.”
—Terry Jones

“It’s very important to have these short film festivals. It gives our people, our First Nations Indigenous people to tell the stories that have not been told before because of the oppression and marginalization that our people have faced and continue to face through systemic racism and discrimination.”
—HMSFP 2021 audience member

The Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program at Burchfield Penney Arts Center (9/3/22) was made possible with funds from Humanities New York and the Statewide Community Regrant program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Services Inc. Additional funding has been provided by the office of Buffalo Common Councilman Joseph Golumbeck Jr.

The Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program was created in collaboration between Spark Filmmakers Collaborative , Native Spirit Film Festival, and Torn Jersey Media.
