The Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program 2024

The 4th Annual Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program will be screening on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 1- 3:00 p.m. at the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, NY. Filmmaker participants TBA!

“Haudenosaunee filmmaking is emerging in a way that is becoming more into the public awareness of who we are as people, how we speak, what we look like.”
—Terry Jones

“It’s very important to have these short film festivals. It gives our people, our First Nations Indigenous people to tell the stories that have not been told before because of the oppression and marginalization that our people have faced and continue to face through systemic racism and discrimination.”
—HMSFP 2021 audience member

Curated by Seneca filmmaker Terry J. Jones, The annual Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program, features an Indigenous curated and filmmaker compensated screening program of  short films created by Haudenosaunee filmmakers from all over Turtle Island followed by a live filmmaker panel discussion and audience Q&A.

The Haudenosaunee Micro Short Film Program creates a safe space for Haudenosaunee filmmakers to represent their experiences as Indigenous People and media makers in an industry characterized by underrepresentation and marginalization.

The Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program was created in collaboration between Spark Filmmakers Collaborative and Torn Jersey Media.
