Amplifying Diverse Storytelling & Expanding Cultural Awareness.

Self-representation is critical to dismantling stereotypes perpetuated by lack of representation. We value the voices of creators of all ages, abilities, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and income levels, and we bring their work. Our year-round film screenings, artist chats, and panel discussions are free to the public and located at venues easily accessible by foot or public transit so anyone can join in and get inspired.

April Spark Selects

Believe in Ukraine Film Program – Sunday, April 14, 2024 + Washington DC – Royal Sonesta Capitol Hill in Washington DC.

“Full circle is what Ukrainians want for their country: to go through challenges and come out on the other side better and stronger. Safe and free. And have the pre-war topics return to the surface again, becoming the most critical agenda like as in times of peace. ” – Anastasia Kirii, Program Curator

This 52-minute short film program begins pre-war stories of day-to-day Ukrainian life, continues with the rough and unbelievable reality of war told from different perspectives, and ends with rebirth, starting the loop all over.

Our stories help us see ourselves in each other.

We want folks of all abilities, ages, ethnicities, genders, sexual identities, and income levels to feel empowered to self represent through video and film starting small.

Our annual Spark Micro-Short Film Festival focuses on films 5 minutes and under because they cost less to produce and anyone with a video enabled device and some encouragement can share their stories and vision with the world.
