Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program 2023

The 3rd Annual Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program will be screening on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 1- 3:00 p.m. at the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, NY.

The Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program, curated by Seneca filmmaker Terry J. Jones & hosted by Caleb Abrams will feature a collection of short films created by Haudenosaunee filmmakers from all over Turtle Island. From narrative to documentary, experimental to dance, youth films to animation, this robust collection of micro-short films exemplifies the breadth of talent of established and emerging Haudenosaunee filmmakers.

The Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Services Inc. Additional funding has been provided by the office of Buffalo Common Councilman Joseph Golumbeck, Jr.

The Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program, which opens the MicroMania Film Festival 2022, is a unique collaboration between Spark Filmmakers Collaborative, Native Spirit Film Festival, and Torn Jersey Media. Torn Jersey Media is an independent Indigenous media company founded by Terry Jones (Seneca – Wolf clan). Terry is also a strategic advisor for Native Spirit Film Festival. The artwork for the Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Program was designed by Terry Jones.
